If
you start with a
search-engine friendly website design, search engines
will find your website.
-
A search friendly website will often rise to the top in its key
search terms on its own merits.
-
A poorly designed website will never rank
highly regardless of how many keywords you stuff into your meta
tags or how much money you pay for search optimization
software or services.
Each search engine has it's
own rules and if you don't follow those (frequently changing) rules, you don't make it to the
top. We want every website we build to be on page
one of its targeted keywords -- and the ones we actively manage
do. So we analyze each project
before we build. We consider the nature of the business, the
target market, the content (images and text)
that will go into the website, and the results expected from the
site before we design.
We pay attention to the
latest webmaster guidance provided by
Google, Yahoo, and MSN and make sure we do everything right
while we're building web pages.
When we're done building, we fiddle to make sure the
content is easy on human eyes and the internal coding is clean and organized so search engine
robots find it.
After a website is fully tested, we submit
it to the major search
engines. Once they find it, usually in a week, we
tweak content as necessary to improve search ranking.
We'd
love to promise you instantaneous results, but we can't. Neither
can anyone else if they're telling you the truth. But most of
our websites find their way to the first page of search results for the
targeted keywords in a few months time with just a little
fiddling every now
and then. And they are often found above the fold of page
one.
